The wild caller
I am a Brazilian born artist based in Virginia, USA, and I create semi-abstract watercolor and acrylic artworks. My practice explores ambiguity and contradiction through the interplay of lines and textures within organic-like forms.
I think of people, places, and moments, and I let my body become a vessel for paint to pass through.
My process is an attempt to return to my free, wild self. I carry traces of repression, delay, and resistance as I walk back into places once called home. In flora and fauna I encounter familiar forms, and finally, I feel that I belong.
I studied agronomy and marketing, and I experimented with several forms of art until I had an epiphany. I did not find art, it had always been there—a quiet impulse waiting to be remembered, and following it felt like surrendering to a voice I had long trained myself not to hear.
